Sign Making

WEEK:  35  5/12 – 5/16

 

HOURS:  Period 6 12:45-1:35

                Period 7  1:40–2:30

UNIT: Class Final – Students will work in groups to design and construct a sign for a chosen discipline (example – Science, English, Math etc)

OBJECTIVE(S): 

Students will combine their previous knowledge to design a sign for the chosen area

Students will gather group ideas to come up with a final design

Students will work as a team to cut, sand, and paint a sign to match their design

Students will use as much of their previous knowledge to make the best sign possible

OUTCOMES:

Students will work in groups to design and construct a final project.

Students will rely on each other to help each student out to finish their project.

Students will receive an extra 25 pts if their group sign is chosen as the best

MATERIALS NEEDED: 

Directions, wood, plastic, etc.

Assignment sheet for Final assignment

 

PROCEDURES:  Monday – Friday

Students will work with their groups to complete the Final by June 6th

ASSESSMENTS:  Students will be assessed on their individual daily work, sketch and print out.  Students will also be assessed by how well their group does on the final sign.

Creativity, neatness, accuracy, use of time, painting, construction, use of tools and machines, color contrasts, and overall appearance will be used to determine their grade.
