Our primary goal is to teach students the benefits of fitness and how healthy choices can improve the quality of life.  Our main focus is to motivate each student to become physically active through a variety of activities that will be offered during the school year.  Units are in line with the Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EARLS).

Class AttendanceYou are responsible for attending class and actively engage in the day’s lesson.  Your attendance in this class is crucial for demonstrating proficiency in the subject.

If a student misses more than ten (10) class sessions during a semester, he/she may be subject to loss of credit in that class.  This may be determined by the teacher of the class impacted by attendance.  The student may appeal the absences to the Attendance Review Committee.  The Attendance Review Committee will review student attendance history, class grades, behavior, performance, and hear student/parent comments in a formal meeting at the school or via an appeal letter.  A schedule change with loss of credit may be recommended or other interventions, such as the student making up class absences in excess of 10 absences.

The student/parent/guardian may appeal the committee findings-recommendations to the principal within three (3) days upon receipt of the Attendance Review Committee letter.  They should write a letter requesting an appeal to the Aberdeen High School principal.  *Additionally, if a student is more than 10 minutes tardy, it will be recorded as an unexcused absence.

Be sure to lock all valuables in your locker each day.  We are not responsible for lost or stolen property.

PE Clothes – The following attire is strongly recommended for PE class ~

·        Plain gray or white t-shirt

·        Socks

·        Shorts (no jeans) or sweat pants

·        Tennis shoes with good support (MUST be properly tied)

Write your last name on your PE clothes.

Accountability ~ High school is our last opportunity to prepare you for the “real world”.  The best way to do this is to practice being responsible for the decisions you make and reaping the benefits/consequences of those actions.  Make the RIGHT choices.

Have a great school year.
