DESCRIPTION:
This course
will take a journey from the migration of the Native Americans to the settling
of the northwest to the foundations of the northwest in the national and
international community. We will discuss
everything from the culture of the Native Americans, to explorers, to the

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
We will do a series of assigned readings w/ questions, lectures, map studies, quizzes, and tests to full cover the topics above.
You will also be required to keep a notebook of all assignments, notes, and projects done in class. This notebook will be graded after each test.
There is also going to be at least one major research project during the semester, with other smaller ones to supplement the course.
CLASS ATTENDANCE:
TEN-DAY ABSENCE RULE
If a student misses more than ten
(10) class sessions during a semester, he/she may be subject to loss of credit
in that class. This maybe determined by
the teacher of the class impacted by attendance. The student may appeal the absences to the

EVALUATION:
Your grade will be determined by the following criteria:
40% tests and quizzes
40% homework—all other assignments
20% semester project
CLASS RULES:
1. Be on time, with materials, ready to work
2. Turn in class work on time with recognizable hand writing—with name clearly written on top
3. No food or drink—except water bottles
4. No cell phones or i-pods, cd players—will be confiscated
5. Follow directions the first time
