- More than 10 absences may cause you to be ineligible
to earn credit in the class.
Grading System:
1.) All Students will be required to keep a portfolio of their work. In this portfolio you will do your daily assignments as well as all lab information. It is recommended that you leave your portfolio in the classroom unless you check it out with the instructor and have his permission. This will be graded from time to time without warning. You must be able to produce your portfolio upon request. NO EXCUSES!!!
2.) Daily Point Value will be on a five-point basis (see grading policy). There are a total of 450 points per semester made available in this area of your grading. This might not seem like a lot of points, but consider this; a major test is only worth 100 points. If you are absent for any reason (excused or not) you will receive no points for the day. The exception to this is on Student Activities (i.e.-Band, Sports, ASB, etc.) or if and administrator has previously OK’d it. If you will be gone, it will be your job to notify me and the administration IN ADVANCE of your absence. You will be allowed to make up any work that you missed if your absence is excused. You will have one day from the first day that you get back, for each excused absence that you have. The exception to this is if you were in class the day the assignment was given then you will need to turn it in on the due date or the first day that you get back. Your attitude towards Mr. Veloni and to the rest of the students is and will be graded. You will be warned if your attitude is unacceptable, after that it will dig into your grade. You will be required to participate in all activities with the class. Last but not least, you will be required to have your portfolios out and ready to use by the time the bell rings everyday. Do not leave these lying around the classroom, they will get lost, stolen or thrown away.
3.) All other grades will have a point value in multiples of four. Four, eight, twelve, sixteen, etc. all assignments, labs & tests will be separate from daily point values. If you are absent from class (and it is excused) you will have one day for every day that you missed. The exception to this is if you were present when the assignment was given then it will be due on the same date as everybody else or the first day that you get back. Of course lab work will be handled differently; you can make up the lab as long as the material is still out. If it is not, then you will be allowed to make up the equivalency in points with another assignment that the instructor gives you.
4.)
I am here every

they have permission.

poor grade.

Parent/Student/Teacher Contract for Mr. Veloni’s Class
I, _______________________________________, have read the course overview, the course outline, the classes grading policy and the classroom rules. I also agree to be in my seat when the bell rings and give my full attention when expected (which is all of the time). I also realize that the rules that apply to Mr. Veloni’s class are in addition to the ABERDEEN SCHOOL DISTRICT RULES and the ABERDEEN HIGH SCHOOL RULES that have been handed down from the administrative level.
I also am fully aware that, of all the rules that I must adhere to, SAFETY is thee most important one. It is also the only rules that will directly affect my grade in this class.
I have read and understand everything and that I alone am responsible for my own actions.
